The nuclear crisis came amid the devastation wrought by the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and tsunami which the Japanese government says has claimed more than 10,000 lives.
The Prime Minister of Japan, Naoto Kan, said radioactivity around the stricken nuclear plant at Fukushima, 250 kilometers north of Tokyo, had "risen considerably" and reached harmful levels.
In a nationally televised statement, Prime Minister warned there are dangers of more leaks and told people living within 19 miles (30 kilometers) of the Dai-ichi complex to stay indoors to avoid potential health risks from the radiation. Due to the disaster, radiation becomes a focus of people's concern. Actually, radiation is everywhere in modern world. Today, people have increasingly relied on mobile phones, computers, micro-wave ovens, televisions and etc, which emit radiation and damage people's health.
Take mobile phone radiation as example, when being used, mobile phones transmit radio waves to the radiation base station. The human body will more or less absorb any kind of radio waves and hence bring about changes in human body, which is likely to affect people's health.
There are many ways to protect yourself from daily radiation. A simple measure is to place several potted cactus beside your computer as they can effectively absorb the radiation released by the computer.
For those who have a tight schedule or have to rush for work, the simplest way to curb radiation is by simply drinking 2 to 3 cups of green tea and eating an orange. As green tea can be assimilated by the body easily into a form of vitamin A, which is later synthesized into a substance called rhodopsin, it helps reducing radiation. Also, rhodopsin helps keeping our eyes see things clearly in the dark by improving the visual ability, and at the same time protects us from the hazard of the computer radiation.
Besides green tea, chrysanthemum tea, spirulina, and Sea buckthorn oil also play a role of anti-radiation. Take some foods which are rich in vitamin A and C such as carrots, cherries, apples, bean sprouts, tomatoes as a good measure to reduce the harmful effect of an indoor radiation.
Traditional Chinese medicines are also very helpful in the fight against radiation. Ganoderma Lucidum functions very well in this field. It is actually a medicinal mushroom commonly used in Asia as a treatment of cancer, in combination with other modern techniques of treatment.
Ganoderma belongs to the Polyporaceae group of the fungi family. They are more potent than Ginseng in radio-protectivity. It is often referred to as the 'King of Herbs'. It is non addictive and non toxic, and as a nutritional supplement, it's suitable for all ages. Many studies have been conducted on its function of anti-radiation.
Feed the test rats Ganoderma Oral Liquid by 2.5,5.0,15.0 ml/kg b.wt./d for 30 days, then put them under a whole body gamma beam illumination to obtain the data of the quantity changes of peripheral white blood cells, bone marrow cell micro nuclear rates, hemolysin of the test rats.
The researchers observed increased ability of the peripheral white blood cells, reduced bone marrow cell micro nuclear rates and enhanced hemolysin of the test rats after gamma beam illumination in the test rats fed Ganoderma Oral Liquid. Therefore, it was evidence that Ganoderma do have the function of assisting irradiation hazard protection.
Ganoderma is already well known and commonly used in Japan, so I am certain that with this Nuclear scare, the demand for Ganoderm in Japan will increase, as people try to do everything they can to protect themselves from radiation.

Other than having radio-protective property, Ganoderma has a wide range of benefits. For now, I express my condolence to the victim of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami on my warm wishes to the people of Japan.

GREAT INFO ABOUT GANODERMA!
Switching from your regular high-acidic caffeinated coffee to a healthier, safer, and more nutritious Ganoderma coffee, tea or hot chocolate makes sense due to the Ganoderma ability to improve the functions of the immune system in adults as well as children. When you do your research on Ganoderma on Google and on www.PubMed.gov, a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health, you get the following information. A) The Ganoderma Lucidum mushroom (also known as Reishi in Japan and Lingzhi in China ) helps the body adapt to many types of body stresses such as trauma, sleep deprivation, temperature, exposure to toxins, psychological stress, infection, or radiation. Ganoderma Lucidum helps the organisms in the body return to a normal, balanced state after illness. B) Ganoderma acts as regulator that fine-tunes the immune systems. Its main purpose is to detect pathogens such as bacteria and other viruses that attack the body. C) A compromised immune system can develop viruses, parasites, bacteria and fungi that cause disease. Repeated use of common antibiotics, anti-viral agents, and anti-fungal medications can cause microbes to develop a resistance to the medications. Consuming Ganoderma can eliminate these problems. Ganoderma is gaining popularity among many as an adjunct to combating the disagreeable side effects of radiation and chemotherapy associated with cancer treatment. D) The Ganoderma red mushroom has exceptional anti-stress qualities that can help improve memory, reduce tension and sharpen your concentration. It is particularly helpful in the treatment of degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and dementia that affects the elderly. Ganoderma has been around for many centuries. It has been used for over 4000 years in Chinese and Japanese Traditional Medicine. The Most Common Uses of Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi)Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi) is commonly used for:
Ganoderma Lucidum (Reishi) which is a higher order organism of the world of fungus, belongs to the Polypore group. "Polypores, commonly known as bracket or shelf fungi, are conspicuous mushrooms that grow off the sides of trees. On a walk through the forest one can commonly see many such bracket mushrooms." "What is not readily visible to us however is the actual mushroom organism, or mycelium. Just as an apple is the fruit of an apple tree, so too is a mushroom the fruit body of a mycelial "tree". Mycelium is a network of the threadlike filaments that originates from spores. The mycelium spreads throughout the nutrient base or substrate, amassing nutrients as it grows. As long as environmental conditions are right, the mycelium will continue to grow and propagate until it exhausts the available nutrients." "As long as nutrients are available, the mycelium can be considered perennial and will live for many years. At least once a year, mushrooms emerge from the mycelial network. As the reproductive organ of the fungus, mushrooms are the means by which spores are created and spread." --- from Reishi Mushroom: Herb of Spiritual Potency and Medical Wonder, Terry Willard, Sylvan Press, 1991 Why is Ganoderma Lucidum so special and so important? The status of Ganoderma Lucidum in the health food industry is unparalleled. It is the culmination of the knowledge and wisdom of the East and West for 5,000 years. Its effectiveness as a health food and as a highly potent medicine have been demonstrated by over 30 years of modern scientific research in Japan, Taiwan, China, U.S.A., Canada, and Poland. Backed by 5,000 years of accumulated experience, Reishi can safely claim to be totally free from side-effects. The wide range of health benefits we can receive from Reishi is also unmatched. As it was so rare, Reishi was available only to emperors in ancient times. The first emperor of China, Shih Huang Ti, sent a fleet with 250 yourng men and 250 young ladies to Japan in search of the herb of longevity, which is Reishi.Ganoderma Lucidum is the king of adaptogens. It is superior to Ginseng. Adaptogens share three important properties: 1. Non-toxic and free from side-effects. 2. Non-specific, acting on the entire body. 3. Normalizes physiological functions. Ganoderma Lucidum contains 800-2,000 ppm of organic germanium, which is 4-5 times more than Ginseng. Germanium is a trace element with adaptogenic functions. Active IngredientsModern medical research in the East and West have identified some of the physiological actions of Reishi. Chemical analysis has revealed that Reishi contains:
